Hang On Your Wall
My favorite way to enjoy art is to hang it on my wall. The art on your walls is a personal statement of what you love and what inspires you. There are many services that provide online printing, and I recommend that you do some research to find a service you are comfortable with.
Here are some tips from me:
Giclee Printing. Giclee printing uses a revolutionary 7 dye-based inkjet system with modern fine print head technology to achieve ultra-detailed color reproduction and enhanced image quality. Giclee prints are certified archival quality (they maintain their color and quality for up to 100 years). Perfect for high quality art prints.
Paper Types. Different art requires different paper types. Water color is better on matte, photorealistic on gloss. Printing services typically offer these paper types: Fine Art (thick matte, watercolor texture), Black and White (semi-gloss Giclee paper for black and white photos), Semi Gloss (lifelike color & saturation, like a traditional photo print), High Gloss (ultra glossy) or Deep Matte (silky smooth, rich colors, pure whites).
High Resolution. More pixels is more detail. Pick the resolution appropriate for the size of your print. This is a good <Size Calculator>.
I recommend the following printing services:
www.mpix.com (low cost, high quality)
www.picturesalon.com (high quality, service)
www.candelafineart.com (excellent quality)
Create A Custom T-Shirt
You will find a lot of vendors offering custom t-shirt printing – you will also find a wide variation in the prices that they offer. The two most well-known vendors are <Printful> and <Printify>. Both provide good service and can be used to identify representative pricing.
The two most common types of printing are:
DTG: (Direct To Garment). The ink is sprayed on to the fabric. Superior detail and color accuracy. Starts to fade after 40-50 washes.
DTF: (Direct To Film). The ink is spayed to a film. The film is ironed to the fabric. Almost as good as DTG. More durable than DTG – no fading after 50 washes.
Add To Your Website
This is the easiest option. We have already worked together to identify the art that you need, and then evolved the art until we are both satisified. If you need web-optimized art I have adjusted the palettes and the image sizes. All that is left is working with your web developer to add the images to your website.
Exciting times.
